The Emmy Award-winning actor-singer Lucie Arnaz will bring her solo show Latin Roots to Feinstein's at the Nikko in San Francisco for two performances, 8 PM February 23 and 24.
The daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz celebrates her Latina heritage in the cabaret show, which has also spawned an album of the same title. The playlist includes songs by Augustine Lara, Rafael Hernandez, and Margarita Lecuona, plus tunes by Irving Berlin and the Gershwins, combining her father’s original orchestrations with some new ones of her own. The show draws on her 2010 album, Lucie Arnaz: Latin Roots.
Arnaz began her TV career making appearances on her mother’s series The Lucy Show. At age 15, she became a series regular on Here's Lucy, and later starred in her own series, The Lucie Arnaz Show. She made several stage appearances on the West Coast and in the New York area, and originated the role of songwriter Sonia Wolsk in the Marvin Hamlisch-Neil Simon musical They’re Playing Our Song, which ran more than 1,000 performances. Other Broadway appearances include Lost in Yonkers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and the 2013 revival of Pippin.
