Goodspeed Musicals has announced casting for its production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, set to kick off the 2017 season this spring in East Haddam, Connecticut. Leading the cast as Millie will be Taylor Quick alongside Tony nominee Loretta Ables Sayre as Mrs. Meers.
Performances are set to run April 21–July 2 at The Goodspeed with an official opening scheduled for May 10. Denis Jones, who choreographed Goodspeed’s world-premiere production of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn—which transferred to Broadway—directs and choreographs.
Set in the fast-paced 1920s, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of a girl from Kansas who moves to New York City and dives head first into the "thoroughly modern" flapper life.

The Goodspeed ensemble will be made up of Darien Crago, Caley Crawford, Patrick Graver, Bryan Thomas Hunt, Emily Kelly, Daniel May, PJ Palmer, Amelia Jo Parish, Sherisse Springer, Sarah Quinn Taylor, Amy Van Norstrand, Darius Wright, and Elise Mestichelli.
The production team includes set designer Paul Tate dePoo III, costume designer Gregory Gale, lighting designer Rob Denton, sound designer Jay Hilton, wig and hair designer Mark Adam Rampmeyer, music director Michael O’Flaherty, and assistant music director William J. Thomas. Orchestrations will be by Dan DeLange, and production stage manager will be Bradley G. Spachman. Casting is by Paul Hardt of StewartWhitley Casting.
