The U.K.'s ITV Television production of The Sound of Music Live that originally aired in 2015 will air as part of Great Performances on PBS November 9 at 9 PM.
The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic is led by Kara Tointon as Maria and Julian Ovenden as Captain Georg von Trapp. Also in the cast are Katherine Kelly as Baroness Elsa Schraeder, Alexander Armstrong as Max Detweiler, Maria Friedman as Mother Abbess, and Mel Giedroyc as Frau Schmidt.
The production was directed by Coky Giedroyc, with live TV direction by Richard Valentine and musical supervisor Martin Koch.
