The Menier Chocolate Factory in London will revive Fiddler on the Roof in a new staging by three-time Tony-winning director Trevor Nunn. The production will begin previews November 23 ahead of a December 5 opening.

Nunn is the former artistic director of London's National Theatre where his productions included Troilus and Cressida, Oklahoma!, The Merchant of Venice, Summerfolk, My Fair Lady, A Streetcar Named Desire, Anything Goes, and Love’s Labour’s Lost.

He has directed the world premieres of Tom Stoppard’s plays Arcadia and Rock n Roll, which both transferred to Broadway, and The Coast of Utopia; and of Cats, Sunset Boulevard, Starlight Express and Aspects of Love by Andrew Lloyd Webber. On Broadway, he also helmed the most recent revival of Cats and Les Misérables, among numerous other shows.

Fiddler on the Roof, the story of Tevye the milkman, his wife and five daughters, features music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Harnick, and a book by Joseph Stein. The musical was last seen in London in May 2007 at the Savoy Theatre with Henry Goodman as Tevye.

Casting for the Chocolate Factory revival is yet to be announced.

Fiddler is currently being staged in Yiddish Off-Broadway in an acclaimed, extended production from National Theatre Folksbienne. The musical was last seen on Broadway in 2015.
