Tony-winning Hamilton writer and star Lin-Manuel Miranda will be among the guest stars taking to the streets in an upcoming new season of Billy Eichner's Billy on the Street.
Lyft Entertainment and Funny or Die will partner on the eight short-form episodes, to be made available on online streaming channels. Also set to appear are Emma Stone (Cabaret, La La Land), Kate McKinnon, and Tiffany Haddish.
As a Fuse and later truTV series, Billy On the Street saw comedian Eichner racing through the streets of Manhattan to question random New Yorkers about a host of pop culture topics.
Born and raised in Queens, Eichner is a vocal theatre fan and often found ways to work Broadway into the show, such as in the following clip, in which Eichner fights with a woman about whether or not Denzel Washington has appeared in The Phantom of the Opera.
Spoiler: though the Oscar- and Tony-winning actor has played Broadway in such productions as Fences and The Iceman Cometh, Washington has yet to don the Phantom's mask.
