Days after the announcement of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s imminent feature film directorial debut, the Hamilton creator has been tapped for another major undertaking: a limited series centered on Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.

Based on Sam Wasson’s biography Fosse, FX’s Fosse/Verdon will star Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams as the famed director-choreographer and Broadway icon, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Miranda will executive produce alongside Rockwell and Williams, as well as Hamilton director Thomas Kail (who will helm the pilot), Dear Evan Hansen Tony winner Steven Levenson (tapped to serve as showrunner and pen the pilot), and George Stelzner. Also attached are Nicole Fosse—daughter of Fosse and Verdon—and Hamilton choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler.

Miranda is also expected to compose music for the series, which will showcase the Fosse choreography that Verdon performed in such shows as Damn Yankees, New Girl in Town, Redhead, Sweet Charity, and Chicago. Their collaborations exemplified a show-business symbiosis that spanned before, during, and after their romantic partnership (the two married in 1960 and separated in 1971, but never divorced).

The project joins an ever-growing and diverse pile of titles Miranda has in the works, which includes developing The Kingkiller Chronicle for Showtime and a film adaption of his musical In the Heights, as well as directing a Tick, Tick...BOOM! movie (with Levenson writing the screenplay). He will appear on the big screen himself this year in Disney's Mary Poppins Returns and is slated to reprise his title performance in Hamilton when the musical plays Puerto Rico next year.
