Initially fast-tracked for a December 18, 2020, release, the film will now premiere a bit sooner that year on November 6, according to Deadline.

The project was initially developed by DreamWorks shortly after the success of In the Heights. The story follows a thrill-seeking capuchin monkey with (naturally) a passion for music who travels from Havana to Miami.
