Lesli Margherita, most recently seen Off-Broadway in Who’s Holiday!, has landed a leading role in the new ABC pilot Most Likely To.
Margherita, according to Deadline, has been cast as Liz Cooney (a "fabulous train wreck") opposite Yvette Nicole Brown as Markie McQueen in the comedy from Diablo Cody, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. TV.
The two women, former high school classmates with little in common, are reunited 20 years later when they become unlikely housemates as single moms.
Margherita, an Olivier winner for Zorro, appeared on Broadway as Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda—a role she originated when the production opened in 2013; she later returned to the role as a member of the final company. She also starred as Mona Kent in the 2015 Broadway production of Dames at Sea. Her TV credits include Homeland and Netflix’s Seven Seconds.
Margherita has been a special guest performer on Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas cruises. Tickets are now on sale for the Broadway on the Rhône River 2 cruise April 7–14, 2019, and the Broadway on the High Seas 10: Odyssey Through the Greek Isles cruise June 24–July 1, 2019.
