After victories at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards, Tony winner Frances McDormand picked up a 2018 Oscar nomination for her performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Among those joining her in the Best Actress category were Broadway alum Saoirse Ronan for Lady Bird and Tony nominee Meryl Streep for The Post.

Tony and Oscar winner Denzel Washington, soon to return to Broadway in The Iceman Cometh, was nominated for Best Actor for Roman J. Israel, Esq., as was Lucille Lortel Award winner Timothée Chalamet for Call Me By Your Name.

Like McDormand, Tony nominee Allison Janney continues her awards reign with an Oscar nomination for I, Tonya after a Golden Globe and SAG Award. Tony winner Laurie Metcalf, who begins rehearsals today for Broadway’s Three Tall Women, is also in the Supporting Actress category for Lady Bird, as is Phantom Thread's Lesley Manville. Manville is slated to reprise her performance as Mary Tyrone in Long Day's Journey Into Night when Richard Eyre's Old Vic production plays the Brooklyn Academy of Music in May.

Tony winner Christopher Plummer was recognized for his 11th hour performance in All the Money in the World, joining fellow Broadway alums Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell in the Supporting Actor category (the latter two nominated for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri).

Two Tony- and Oscar-winning songwriting teams earned their second Oscar nominations: La La Land and Dear Evan Hansen collaborators Benj Pasek and Justin Paul for The Greatest Showman’s “This Is Me” and married Frozen team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez for Coco’s “Remember Me.”
