The Broadway production of Bandstand began previews March 31 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. The new musical, starring Corey Cott and Laura Osnes, will open officially April 26.

Directed and choreographed by Hamilton Tony winner Andy Blankenbuehler, the musical uses an original swing score by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker to tell the story of Donny Novitski (Cott), who assembles a band of fellow WWII veterans to enter a national radio contest searching for the next big band sensation. Along the way, he teams up with Julia (Osnes), a young war widow who becomes the group’s lead singer.
