International News Last Minute Cast Change Affects West End’s Stepping Out Tamzin Outhwaite has temporarily stepped out of Stepping Out, to be replaced by Anna-Jane Casey.

The new West End production of Richard Harris’ ’80s comedy Stepping Out, which began previews March 1 at the Vaudeville Theatre prior to an official opening March 14, is to see West End regular Anna-Jane Casey temporarily replace Tamzin Outhwaite as Mavis, the teacher of a weekly tap dance class.

Outhwaite has been forced to temporarily withdraw from the production with a stress fracture of her foot. She will be replaced by Casey until Outhwaite is fit to return.

Casey joins her sister, Natalie Casey, in a cast that also features Amanda Holden, Tracy-Ann Oberman, and Nicola Stephenson. Also in the company are Judith Barker, Jessica-Alice McCluskey, Sandra Marvin, and Dominic Rowan with Janet Behan, Suzy Bloom, Emma Hook, Marcia Mantack, and Nick Warnford.

In a press statement, Holden commented, “It is sad to lose Tamzin. It is ironic and, of course, in keeping with the theme of the show in many ways. However we can assure everyone who comes a fun and entertaining evening and we can’t wait to get started with the previews. We look forward to Tamzin returning very soon.”
