Tony winner Kelli O'Hara and Frozen star Patti Murin will take to the field at Yankee Stadium and lend their voices to the team's first home game of the season April 2 (against the Tampa Bay Rays). O'Hara will kick things off with the national anthem, with Murin following up with "God Bless America." The two stage favorites shared the news on Twitter.
"I've been wearing pinstripes since I was born, and I'm SO excited and honored to be a part of this day," wrote Murin.
O'Hara currently sings the role of Despina in the Metropolitan Opera's Coney Island-set staging of Così fan tutte. She'll then cross the pond to reprise her Tony-winning performance as Anna Leonowens in the West End engagement of The King and I. She is scheduled to return to Broadway next year in Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Kiss Me, Kate.
Murin can be seen on Broadway this season as Anna in Disney's Frozen. She has previously starred in Lysistrata Jones and Xanadu, as well as the national tour of Wicked.
