The Palm Springs International Film Festival will screen the 2018 documentary Kaye Ballard — The Show Goes On! January 6 and 8.

Showcasing the career of the musical comedy icon, the Dan Wingate-directed film features interviews with Ann-Margret, Michael Feinstein, Jerry Stiller, Ballard herself, and more, as well as highlights of archival footage from her decades of stardom.

Ballard made her Broadway debut in The Golden Apple in 1954. She then replaced in the 1961 production of Carnival! before appearing in 1963’s The Beast in Me. She starred as the title role in Molly in 1973 and last appeared on the Main Stem in 1981’s The Pirates of Penzance. But more than her Broadway roles, Ballard was perhaps best known for her night club act.

She continued performing around the country as Matron Mama Morton in Chicago, Pauline in No, No, Nanette and her star turn as Hattie in Paper Mill’s Follies back in 1998. She, Donna McKechnie, and Liliane Montevecchi also starred in a production of From Broadway With Love.
