Through the eyes of a wife and mother (Erbe), Something Clean examines the aftermath of a sex crime—guilt, the grief, and the ways we grapple with the unthinkable.

Something Clean will feature Erbe as Charlotte, Daniel Jenkins (Oslo, Billy Elliot) as Doug, and Christopher Livingston (Wilder Gone, Party People) as Joey.

The new play will begin performances May 4 in Roundabout’s 62-seat Black Box Theatre ahead of a May 30 opening night. The limited engagement is scheduled through June 30.

The creative team is made up of Reid Thompson (sets), Valérie Thérèse Bart (costumes), Jiyoun Chang (lighting), and Palmer Hefferan (original compositions and sound).

Something Clean was originally commissioned and developed through the Sideshow Theatre Company Freshness Initiative and was presented as part of the 2018 Roundabout Underground Reading Series.

Now in its 12th season, Roundabout Underground showcases new plays in the company's Black Box Theatre. The initiative is dedicated to introducing and cultivating emerging writers by giving them their first Off-Broadway production or a reading of a new work.

Fillinger is an actor and writer. Other work includes Faceless (Northlight Theatre premiere, Joseph Jeff Award-nominated, regional productions at Zeitgeist Theatre, St. Louis Repertory Theatre, and Park Theatre in London) and The Armor Plays: Cinched/Strapped.
