Josh Groban, who is currently making his Broadway debut in the new musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, has recorded a song for the upcoming live-action remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Entitled “For Evermore,” the new song was penned by Alan Menken and Tim Rice and will be heard during the film's end credits. Groban's version of the song, which will be performed in the film by the Beast (Dan Stevens), will also be found on the motion picture's soundtrack.

In a statement Groban said, “I am honored to sing this beautiful new song by two of my absolute favorites, Alan Menken and Tim Rice. Beauty and the Beast has been with me since my childhood and to have a musical connection to this new film makes me so happy.”

The film, which arrives in cinemas March 17, stars Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s father; Josh Gad as Le Fou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Ewan McGregor as Lumière, the candelabra; Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; Audra McDonald as Madame De Garderobe, the wardrobe; Hattie Morahan as the enchantress; and Nathan Mack as Chip, the teacup; with Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.

Directed by Bill Condon, based on the 1991 animated film, Beauty and the Beast is written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Stephen Chbosky, and Condon.

Alan Menken, who won two Academy Awards (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the animated film, provides the score, which includes new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Ashman, as well as three new songs written by Menken and Tim Rice.
