Performances begin February 8 at the Vineyard Theatre for Jordan Harrison’s play The Amateurs, about a rag-tag group of pageant players attempting to outrun the Black Death in 14th-century Europe. The new comedy-drama from the Pulitzer Prize finalist examines the intersection of creativity, art, and crisis.

The world-premiere production of The Amateurs is directed by Oliver Butler and will officially open Off-Broadway February 27.

The cast is made up of Kyle Beltran (Gloria), Quincy Tyler Bernstine (Ruined), Michael Cyril Creighton (Stage Kiss), Greg Keller (Somewhere Fun), Jennifer Kim (Gloria), and Thomas Jay Ryan (The Crucible).

The Amateurs features scenic design by David Zinn (SpongeBob SquarePants), costume design by Jessica Pabst (Marvin's Room), lighting design by Jen Schriever (Eclipsed), and sound design by Bray Poor (Latin History for Morons).

Due to a scheduling conflict, there will not be a performance of The Amateurs February 9.
