Austin Cauldwell, Glenn Fitzgerald, and John Pankow will join the previously announced Edie Falco, Michael McKean, and Peter Scolari in the world premiere of Sharr White’s play The True Off-Broadway. The New Group production will launch the company’s 2018–2019 season at the Pershing Square Signature Center in September.

Directed by Scott Elliott, The True will begin performances September 4 ahead of a September 20 opening. The limited engagement is scheduled through October 21.

In the 1977-set The True, Falco stars as Dorothea "Polly” Noonan, the blunt, long-time defender of Albany’s Democratic Party. The new work is billed as "an intimate portrait of the bounds of love, loyalty, and female power in the male-dominated world of 1977 patronage politics."
