Christopher Square turned into a high school party this week when the cast and creator of Be More Chill performed at Playbill's Sing for Hope piano.

Anyone near The Stonewall Inn was treated to the free performance by company members of the sci-fi teen musical, who were on hand to celebrate World Pride with Sing for Hope and Playbill.

In a light rain and under a yellow tarp decorated with pride flags, Will Roland, Gerard Canonico, and Troy Iwata performed "A Guy That I’d Kinda Be Into," "Michael in the Bathroom," and "Voices in My Head."

Be More Chill’s music creator and lyricist Joe Iconis played the piano for the ensemble. After the "Michael in the Bathroom" performance, the musician admitted that he forgot something important: "As I started playing I was like, 'I don’t know how to play this song anymore. If you gave me a million dollars, I could not tell you the notes to the song.'"

You can watch the group perform and Iconis laughing off the error below (he tweeted about it later, too).

Sing for Hope has returned for the eighth year, bringing free public pianos to New York City's five boroughs, including a special instrument designed by Playbill. And join Playbill at our piano for special live performances every Thursday!
