A host of musical theatre writers and directors will go from behind the scenes to the stage as guests on the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation’s upcoming podcast, Live at the Lortel. Four taping sessions—free and open to the public—will take place later this month at the West Village venue: two on July 9 and two on July 10.

July 9 will first see Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Dear Evan Hansen), who returns to Second Stage Theater later this month to helm Bess Wohl’s Make Believe. That evening, the creative team behind Scotland, PA—composer Adam Gwon, book writer Michael Mitnick, and director Lonny Price—will discuss the upcoming musical, which makes its Off-Broadway world premiere with Roundabout Theatre Company this fall.

Two composers currently represented on the Off-Broadway stage will speak July 10. First up is recent Tony nominee Joe Iconis (Broadway Bounty Hunter, Be More Chill), followed by Tony winner Duncan Sheik (The Secret Life of Bees).

The podcast, hosted by Eric Ostrow, explores the careers and current projects of Off-Broadway artists. Charles Busch, Jackie Hoffman, and Daphne Rubin-Vega have previously taken part as guests; the podcast is expected to launch on streaming platforms shortly.
