Jeff Whiting will direct an industry reading of the new musical In the Light, a Faustian Tale April 5 in New York City.

Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan, who will soon return to Broadway in the hit musical Waitress, will play Johann Faustus alongside Teal Wicks (The Cher Show), Bobby Conte Thornton (A Bronx Tale), Sofia Deler (2018 Jimmy Award winner), and Antonio Cipriano (Jagged Little Pill).

This original retelling of the Faust legend features music and lyrics by Michael Mott with a book by Nathan Wright and Justin Silvestri.

The cast will be completed by Enrique Acevedo, Brandon Contreras, Janet Dickinson, Kevin Gardner, Cooper Grodin, Tally Sessions, Karla Shook, Laura Yen Solito, and Lindsay Rider.


In In the Light, which is inspired by the Faust legends, audiences are taken on a journey from the bloody courts of the Medieval Inquisition to the magical center of the universe.

The reading will have music direction by Joshua Zecher-Ross and arrangements by Mott, Zecher-Ross, and Jeff Theiss. The stage management team includes Michael T. Clarkston, Michelle Scalpone, and Rachel Shuford.

Tony-winning executive producer Greg Schaffert is joined by general manager Dean Carpenter. Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting (Kaitlin Shaw, C.S.A).
