Regional News Jennifer Damiano and Jessica Phillips to Lead Goodspeed’s Deathless The Zack Zadek musical about a bittersweet family road trip with a futuristic twist will be directed by Tina Landau.

Goodspeed Musicals has announced casting for its upcoming production of the Zack Zadek musical Deathless, which runs June 2–July 2 at the Terris Theatre in Chester, Connecticut.

Set in a not-too-distant future where one pill offers the chance to live forever, Deathless has book, music, and lyrics by Zadek.

Tina Landau (The Spongebob Musical) directs a cast that features Tony Award nominee Jennifer Damiano (Next to Normal), Sean Allan Krill (Joan of Arc: Into the Fire), Kelli Barrett (Doctor Zhivago), Jessica Phillips (Leap of Faith), and Johnny Shea.

According to Goodspeed, “The Serling family is taking its annual road trip to Niagara Falls, but this time they’re saying goodbye to Mom. Along the way, memories of past trips, old wounds and family secrets are navigated in a not-too-distant future where no one dies of disease. For daughter Hayley, the journey means facing the big questions of life and death. Travel with unforgettable characters on the brink of discovering that living forever may not be as wonderful as it sounds. A funny, bittersweet, breathtaking new musical you simply must see.”

Deathless will have scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Scott Zielinski, projection design by Lucy Mackinnon, sound design by Jay Hilton, and orchestrations by Justin Goldner and Zadek. Julie McBride is the show’s music director. Casting for Deathless is by Paul Hardt of StewartWhitley Casting.
