Israeli pop star Shiri Maimon will make her Broadway debut beginning September 21 in the Tony-winning revival of Chicago at the Ambassador Theatre. Maimon will step into the role of Roxie Hart, succeeding Michelle DeJean.
About Roxie, Maimon says in the video above, “She's got her own dream… [and] she's doing anything to fulfill it!”
Maimon, who rose to fame as the runner-up in the TV show Kokhav Nolad, represented Israel in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. She was also one of the judges on the first three seasons of The X Factor Israel.
The Broadway cast also currently features Raena White as Matron “Mama” Morton, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, John O’Hurley as Billy Flynn, Evan Harrington as Amos Hart, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. will become Broadway's newest Billy Flynn starting October 6.

Chicago, featuring a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb, is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler. The production is currently the longest-running American musical in Broadway history.
