The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture held a preview reception July 30, offering a sneak peek at its roster of events this fall. The preview was hosted by Tony nominee Vanessa Williams, who was also announced to perform at the center's November 18 holiday benefit Thankful for Christmas.

The center's fall lineup also includes the American Slavery Project's Unheard Voices, a piece comprised of monologues and music written by 17 different writers in response to the true stories of a handful of the 30,000 unrecorded African-Americans interred in Lower Manhattan's African Burial Ground; a live edition of the podcast Places, Everyone, which features interviews with both stage and screen artists; and The Gospel of John, a one-man performance of the titular Biblical gospel, performed by Drama Desk winner Ken Jennings (Sweeney Todd, Grand Hotel, Sideshow).
