Rehearsals are underway for Berberian Sound Studio, the upcoming stage adaptation of Peter Strickland’s acclaimed 2012 horror film, which will begin performances February 8 at London’s Donmar Warehouse. The production, written by Joel Horwood and co-conceived and directed by Tom Scutt, stars Tom Brooke, Enzo Cilenti, and Tom Espiner. Opening night is set for February 14; the engagement is scheduled to run through March 30.

Set in an Italian sound studio, the play explores the increasingly tense and frightening goings-on as a Foley artist is tasked with using various vegetables to create increasingly violent sound effects. The production features sets and costumes by Anna Yates and Tom Scutt, lighting by Lee Curran, sound design and original compositions by Ben and Max Ringham, and Foley design by Tom Espiner.
