NBC and Playbill teamed up to host a viewing party for the new NBC drama Rise, which premiered March 13. Cast members from the show came out to celebrate the premiere at Tavern on the Green with fans of the show and Playbill Club members.

With hors d'oeuvres and cocktails served beforehand, the crowd quickly settled down to watch the first episode air live on NBC—and guests who tweeted using the hashtag #RisePlaybill were immediately entered into a live drawing for Rise merchandise. Two winning tweets were announced per commercial break, with the lucky winners taking home their prizes that night.

Inspired by the book Drama High: The Incredible True Story of a Brilliant Teacher, a Struggling Town, and the Magic of Theater, the series hails from creator Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) and Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller. The drama—about a small town high school's theatre department putting on a production of the controversial Spring Awakening—stars Josh Radnor, Rosie Perez, Auli’i Cravalho, and Damon J. Gillespie.

Everyone at the event received the official Rise Playbill, created and designed by Sarah Jane Arnegger and Logan Culwell-Block using PLAYBILLder, a platform that lets you build your very own Broadway-quality Playbill program.
