How George Salazar Wound Up Singing 'Broadway Here I Come' for Two-Player Game | Playbill

Video How George Salazar Wound Up Singing 'Broadway Here I Come' for Two-Player Game Composer Joe Iconis and Salazar take audiences inside their new studio album.

“Anyone who is really familiar with your body of work is expecting always the humor-filled interpretation of whatever the thing is,” says composer Joe Iconis of performer George Salazar. “I was like, ‘It would be so cool if we started this concert with this really amazing performance ... this would be a cool way to subvert expectations.’”

Which is how Iconis’ well-known single from NBC’s Smash, “Broadway Here I Come,” wound up on the duo’s new album Two-Player Game.

Released July 27 by Ghostlight Records, Two-Player Game is currently available via physical, streaming, and digital formats. Produced by Ian Kagey and Kurt Deutsch, the album includes songs such as “Broadway, Here I Come!” from Smash, “Michael in the Bathroom” and the titular “Two-Player Game” from Be More Chill, “Tiny Short Little Song,” and “The Answer.”
