Cabaret & Concert News Honeymoon in Vegas Star Tony Danza Shares His Standards and Stories The star of TV’s Taxi and Who’s the Boss is on a concert tour.
Tony Danza

Tony Danza, the TV star who played a charming gangster in the Broadway musical Honeymoon in Vegas, is bringing his singing and dancing talents to the stage in a fall tour that will take him to the Midwest and the East Coast.

Titled Tony Danza: Standards and Stories, the concert combines singing, storytelling, a dash of soft shoe, and ukulele playing. Backed by a four-piece band, Danza performs standards from the Great American Songbook, plus selections from Jason Robert Brown’s score for Honeymoon in Vegas.

Danza premiered the cabaret show in New York earlier this year. Danza is known for his starring roles on TV’s Taxi and Who’s The Boss. In recent years he has cultivated a stage career, appearing on Broadway in A View From the Bridge, The Producers (as a replacement Max Bialystock), and in a production of Eugene O’Neill’s The Iceman Cometh that he originated in London.

Here are the upcoming stops on the Standards and Stories tour:

October 20: Heritage Center at University of Dubuque, Dubuque, Iowa
October 27: American Theatre in Hampton, Virginia
November 12: Springfield Symphony Hall, Springfield, Massachusetts
December 21: NYCB Theatre at Westbury, Westbury, New York
