International News Hear New Song From Upcoming London Musical Fiver The dreams and desires of everyday Londoners are set in song as a £5 note makes its way through the city.

Fiver, a new musical that follows a £5 note as it passes through the hands and pockets of Londoners, will have its world premiere at the Southwark Playhouse with previews set to begin July 3.

The cast will feature Luke Bayer (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), Aoife Clesham (Peter Pan), Alex James Ellison (The Secret Garden), Dan Buckley (Ferris, Eugenius!), and Hiba Elchikhe (Aladdin).

Alex James Ellison and Tom Lees wrote the show that musicalizes moments—both big and small—in the lives of everyday Londoners whose stories are interconnected through the passing of a £5 note.

Fiver will officially open July 5.

The creative team has also released a video preview of the new musical, featuring Dan Buckley performing “My Day,” written for the character of a homeless man who has just been handed a fiver. Watch the video above.

Ellison and Lees co-direct the production that is set to run through July 20. Fiver will have lighting design by Alex Musgrave and set design by Justin Williams.
