Additional information, including exact dates and casting, will be announced at a later date. Michael Cassel will serve as executive producer for the Australia engagement.

The play features a new story by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and director John Tiffany. The eighth installment in Rowling’s series picks up at the start of the seventh novel’s epilogue, in which Harry Potter’s son Albus sets off for his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

The London production earned 11 Olivier Award nominations, winning nine (including Best New Play).

The Broadway engagement will begin performances at the Lyric Theatre March 16, 2018, prior to an official opening April 22. A number of the play's original stars will reprise their performances in New York, including Sam Clemmett as Albus Potter and the core trio of Harry, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley: Jamie Parker, Noma Dumezweni, and Paul Thornley.

The staging, presented by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender, and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions, features movement by Steven Hoggett, set design by Christine Jones, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, music and arrangements by Imogen Heap, lighting design by Neil Austin, sound design by Gareth Fry, and illusions and magic effects by Jamie Harrison.
