Industry News Hansol Jung, Hilary Bettis, Jaclyn Backhaus, and More Are Newest Members of The Kilroys The new members will continue the fight for gender parity in the American Theatre.

The Kilroys welcomes a new class of members to help continue to fight for gender parity in the American theatre. Among other efforts, the collective of playwrights, directors, and producers releases an annual list of industry-recommended new plays by women, trans, and non-binary writers known as The List.

The newest Kilroys members are Jaclyn Backhaus (India Pale Ale, Men on Boats), Hilary Bettis (The Americans, Alligator), Jennifer Chambers (director: The Cake by Bekah Brunstetter, Bed by Shelia Callaghan), Claudia de Vasco (incoming artistic producing director at Chalk Rep Theatre and Managing Director of Emerging Arts Leaders/LA), Emma Goidel (The Gap, A Kneee That Can Bend), Christina Ham (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, A Wive's Tale), director and producer Jessica Hanna (co-founder of Bootleg Theater), Monet Hurst-Mendoza (Torera, Blind Crest), Obehi Janice (Ole White Sugah Daddy, Era Era), Hansol Jung (Wild Goose Dreams, Cardboar Piano), Chelsea Marcantel (Airness, Everything is Wonderful), Caroline V. McGraw (I Get Restless, Ultimate Beauty Bible), Bianca Sams (Rust On Bone, Simply Bess), and the creator of SORORITY, Gina Young (Butch Ballet).

The original members of The Kilroys (Zakiyyah Alexander, Bekah Brunstetter, Sheila Callaghan, Carla Ching, Annah Feinberg, Sarah Gubbins, Laura Jacqmin, Joy Meads, Kelly Miller, Meg Miroshnik, Daria Polatin, Tanya Saracho, and Marisa Wegrzyn) will serve as an advisory board supporting the current class.
