Leslie Odom Jr., Jeff Perry, Christopher Denham, and more theatre veterans have joined the cast of the new CBS All Access streaming series $1.

Set in post-recession America in a small rust belt town, the series explores how a $1 bill links a group of strangers to a murder.

The cast also includes John Carroll Lynch (American Horror Story, The Guthrie’s A View From the Bridge), Nathaniel Martello-White (National Theatre’s Romeo and Juliet), Philip Ettinger (Off-Broadway’s Bad Jews, Compliance), Kirrilee Berger (Billy Elliot: The Musical), Gracie Lawrence, and Sturgill Simpson.

Tony winner Odom Jr., Hamilton’s original Aaron Burr, will play Randall Abatsy, a new-to-town charmer known for his magnetic personality and lavish theme parties. Perry, known best on TV for his work on Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy, will play Charles, a retired con man. He was last seen on Broadway in August: Osage County, earning a Drama Desk nomination.

Denham, who has appeared on Broadway in China Doll, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, and MASTER HAROLD...and the Boys will play Police Chief Peter Trask. Berger will play Dannie Furlbee, daughter of the richest man in town and a straight-A student preparing for her first semester of college.

Director Craig Zobel will helm the series, as well as executive produce alongside Matt DeRoss of Anonymous Content, Alexandre Dauman, Rafael Yglesias, and Jason Mosberg

CBS All Access’ current programming includes shows also led by familiar theatre faces, including The Good Fight starring Christine Baranski and Star Trek: Discovery starring Anthony Rapp.
