Three developmental presentations of new works will take the stage as part of New York Stage and Film’s winter 2019 season of programming, running February 4–8 at the Lark.

The lineup begins with Saying Goodbye to the People I Love From My Bathtub, penned by Halley Feiffer. Trip Cullman (currently represented on Broadway with Choir Boy) will direct the piece, in which a woman summons people to her bath—her safe space—as she searches for a sense of closure. The free public reading will take place February 4 at the 43rd Street venue’s Barebones Studio.

Cullman is no stranger to Feiffer’s plays, having directed I’m Gonna Pray For You So Hard, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center of New York City, and Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow Moscow. He will also helm the world premiere of her The Pain of My Belligerence this spring at Playwrights Horizons.

The series continues February 6 with Harrison David Rivers’ the bandaged place, about an injured dancer who turns to the complicated support of his daughter and grandmother as he attempts to heal from the reopened wounds caused by the resurfacing of an ex-boyfriend.

Danielle Tool will direct Sharr White’s Pictures From Home, which concludes the winter roster February 8. The play brings to the stage photographer Larry Sultan’s decades-long project that explored American optimism and resentment against the backdrop of his family’s journey from Brooklyn to San Fernando Valley.

Casting for the three free performances will be announced later. For more information and to RSVP, visit NewYorkStageandFilm.org.
