No production timeline or creative team has yet been announced for the project, currently titled Broadway Vacation.

Centered around the misadventures of the Griswold family, the Vacation franchise began in 1983 with National Lampoon’s Vacation, starring Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. European Vacation, Vegas Vacation, and Christmas Vacation followed before 2015’s Vacation, which featured the next generation of the Griswold clan.

“While the characters are familiar, Broadway Vacation will take them on a completely original musical journey—and on a trip to New York that they will never forget,” Deutsch said in a statement.

Davenport is currently represented on Broadway with the revival of Once On This Island. He is also producing the Broadway-bound Gettin’ The Band Back Together, for which he also co-wrote the book (performances begin July 19 at the Belasco Theatre). The producer also recently acquired the musical rights to the life story of author-entrepreneur Joy Mangano.
