Tony winner and two-time Oscar winner Glenda Jackson will star in an upcoming BBC adaptation of Emma Healey's mystery novel, Elizabeth Is Missing, according to Deadline. Jackson will star as Maud, an aging grandmother who, in the face of worsening dementia, embarks on a quest to find the best friend she believes has disappeared.
The BBC One adaptation will be a feature-length project with a screenplay by Andrea Gibb and direction by Aisling Walsh .
Jackson, who is a 2018 Tony Award winner for her role in Three Tall Women, recently wrapped up performances as King Lear in the Sam Gold–helmed revival on Broadway. Her other Broadway credits include Lady Macbeth in a 1988 production of Macbeth, as well as Strange Interlude, Rose, and The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat... in 1965.
She is the winner of two Academy Awards, for her performances in A Touch of Class and Women in Love.
