This never-before-recorded song was written for a 1990 concert at the now-defunct venue The Space. The evening, titled Naked Angels Censorship Show, featured work from such writers as Theresa Rebeck, Warren Leight, Richard Greenberg, Jon Robin Baitz, and Kenneth Lonergan, directed by artists including Joe Mantello and Matthew Broderick.
The Jonathan Larson Project preserves a concert evening originally performed at Feinstein's/54 Below in fall 2018, with a songlist made up of previously unrecorded music by the late Rent composer. Songs included some from never-produced shows like 1984 and Superbia; cut songs; and musical numbers written for theatrical revues and the radio.
Directed and conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, with music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Charlie Rosen, the recording features the talents of performers Marcus, Blaemire, Rodriguez, Mientus, and Salazar, backed by band members Natalie Tenenbaum (musical director), Rosen, Cody Owen Stine, Megan Talay, and Marques Walls with Danielle Gimbal as copyist.
