The Man in the Ceiling features music and lyrics by Lippa, with a book by Jules Feiffer. The work, based on Feiffer's novel of the same name, tells the story of 12-year-old aspiring cartoonist Jimmy Jibbett (Grady) who is forced to find inspiration and hope in unusual places when his family is less than supportive of his drawings. The work premiered at Sag Harbor's Bay Street Theatre in 2017.
