New Jersey's George Street Playhouse and Crossroads Theatre will both be housed in the brand-new New Brunswick Performing Arts Center in New Brunswick's downtown cultural arts district. Set to open this fall, the $215 million, 25-story multi-use property will feature two state-of-the-art theatres, dedicated rehearsal space, academic and office space, and residential apartments.

The building is located on the site of the former George Street Playhouse and Crossroads Theater on Livingston Avenue, and will be a home for music, dance, and theatre. Opening for the arts center is set for September 4.

The two theatres housed within NBPAC have been named by George Street Playhouse in honor of the largest gifts ever made to the theatre: the 463-seat Elizabeth Ross Johnson Theatre, and the 259-seat Laurents Theatre after librettist Arthur Laurents.

NBPAC is a project of the New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO). For more information visit DEVCO.org.
