Los Angeles News Full Cast Announced for Lights Out: Nat 'King' Cole, Starring Dulé Hill and Daniel J. Watts at the Geffen The new play with music will begin previews February 5 at the Geffen Playhouse.

Complete casting has been announced for the Geffen Playhouse production of Lights Out: Nat “King” Cole, starring Dulé Hill (The West Wing; Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk) as Cole, and Daniel J. Watts (Hamilton, In the Heights) as Sammy Davis Jr.

Joining the cast are Gisela Adisa (Beautiful, Sister Act) as Eartha Kitt and others; Connor Amacio Matthews (In the Flow with Connor Amacio) as Billy Preston and others; Bryan Dobson (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Rocky Horror Show) as Producer and others; Ruby Lewis (Marilyn!, Jersey Boys) as Betty Hutton, Peggy Lee and others; Zonya Love (Emma and Max, The Color Purple) as Perlina and others; Marcia Rodd (Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Shelter) as Candy and others; and Brandon Ruiter (Sex with Strangers, A Picture of Dorian Gray) as Stage Manager and others. McGregor also directs.

Written by Colman Domingo and Patricia McGregor, Lights Out: Nat “King” Cole begins previews February 5 ahead of a February 13 opening night. The Geffen has also announced an extension through March 17. Music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations are by John McDaniel.

The production has set design by Clint Ramos and Ryan Howell, costume design by Katherine O’Neill, lighting design by Alan C. Edwards, and sound design by Alex Hawthorn. David Witham is music director/conductor, with Edgar Godineaux as choreographer.
