Actors Gabby Beans, Marceline Hugot, and Ismenia Mendes will be part of the cast of Jackie Sibblies Drury’s new play Marys Seacole at Lincoln Center Theater’s LCT3. The trio of actors joins the previously announced Quincy Tyler Bernstine (Our Lady of 121st Street, The Amateurs), Karen Kandel, and Lucy Taylor.

The play, written by Drury (Fairview), begins performances February 9, 2019, at the Claire Tow Theater and continues through March 24.

Directed by Obie winner Lileana Blain-Cruz (Pipeline), the drama follows the story of a passionate and driven Jamaican woman, Mary (Bernstine) and her adventures across the globe and across time—from the Crimean War zone to a modern-day nursing home.

Beans has been seen on the New York stage in On Loss and Mice and Monsters and Love (LaGuardia Performing Arts Center), After Dark (La MaMa), Autoportrait: America (Irondale Center), and more. Hugot returns to LCT after appearing in Measure for Measure; she also appeared on Broadway in Prelude to a Kiss. Mendes most recently appeared Off-Broadway in Bernie & Mikey’s Trip to the Moon (59E59), Fuck Marry Kill, The Liar (CSC), and Troilus And Cressida and Much Ado About Nothing (The Public).

The production features scenic design by Mariana Sanchez, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, and sound design by Palmer Hefferan.

LCT3 is the arm of Lincoln Center Theater dedicated to the development of new work under the artistic direction of Evan Cabnet (LCT3) and LCT Artistic Director André Bishop.
