On August 27, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts will present We Remember Him Well: The Songs of Alan Jay Lerner, celebrating the centenary of the lyricist.

Presenters Steve Ross and Max St. James will examine the works of Lerner and his many writing partners, including Frederick Loewe, Kurt Weill, Burton Lane, Andre Previn, and John Barry.

Together, Lerner and Loewe wrote such classics as My Fair Lady, a revival of which currently plays Lincoln Center Theater, Paint Your Wagon, Brigadoon, Camelot, and Gigi.

The cast for the one-night-only event will perform tunes including “I Talk to the Trees,” “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever,” “I Remember It Well,” “What Did I Have That I Don’t Have?,” “Heather On the Hill,” “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?,” and “Almost Like Being In Love.” Ross and St. James will also share quintessential backstage stories.
