Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of True West is set to officially January 24 at the American Airlines Theatre after beginning preview performances December 27, 2018. The production of Sam Shepard’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated play, directed by James Macdonald, is scheduled for a limited engagement through March 17.
True West stars Tony and Oscar nominee Ethan Hawke and Golden Globe nominee Paul Dano as Austin and Lee respectively. In True West, two brothers—one, a moderately successful screenwriter (Dano), the other, a drifter (Hawke)—reunite in their mother's California home, leading to the airing of old resentments and some unexpected twists in the relationship. The production also stars Marylouise Burke and Gary Wilmes.
