Theatre For a New Audience is expanding its 2019 programming to include a return run of Soho Rep.'s acclaimed production of Fairview by Jackie Sibblies Drury. First seen at Soho Rep. in 2018—where it sold out and extended three times—the play will return Off-Broadway in a limited run in the Samuel H. Scripps Mainstage at Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Brooklyn.

Directed by Sarah Benson with choreography by Raja Feather Kelly, Fairview will play in Brooklyn June 2–June 30. Casting will be announced at a later date.

In Faiview, the Frasier family prepares for Grandma’s birthday—but not all is going according to plan, and things quickly go in unexpected directions. The new work is an examination of race and privilege in America, as well as an investigation into the ways in which we watch and judge each other every day. Read reviews for Fairview here.

“I’m delighted that thousands more people will be able to see Jackie’s play at TFANA! It has been terrific to see the piece thrive in different contexts, most recently at Berkeley Rep. who co-commissioned the piece with us," says Benson. "Especially given the small size of Soho Rep’s house (and the devoted standby lines!) it is wonderful for more New Yorkers to experience this production and to feel the work reverberate beyond the walls of 46 Walker Street. Polonsky Shakespeare Center is a fabulous space for the piece, and we are very excited to bring the show to Brooklyn and further our collaboration with TFANA after working together on the remount of An Octoroon in 2015.”

The encore run of Fairview is currently only on sale as part of TFANA’s two-play subscription package (of Fairview and Julius Caesar). Single tickets will be available March 12.

Following its acclaimed premiere at Soho Rep, Fairview played at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, which co-commissioned the piece.

The creative team for the world-premiere production included Tony Award-winner Mimi Lien (scenic designer), Montana Levi Blanco (costume designer), Amith Chandrashaker (lighting designer), Mikaal Sulaiman (sound designer), J. David Brimmer(fight director), Cookie Jordan (hair and wig designer), Garrett Allen (associate director), and Ryan Courtney (props).

Fairview will receive its UK premiere at the Young Vic in November.
