Nicholas Hytner’s production of Shakespeare’s political thriller Julius Caesar, which stars Ben Whishaw (BBC’s The Hollow Crown, The Danish Girl, The Crucible on Broadway) as Brutus and David Calder as Caesar, will be screened in the U.S. March 22. The Fathom Events and National Theatre Live production will premiere in select cinemas throughout the country; for your nearest location click here.

The show also stars Michelle Fairley as Cassius and David Morrissey as Mark Antony. Hytner gives theatregoers the option to view his modern-dress, in-the-round production from a seated vantage point overlooking the action, or to purchase a “mob” ticket and stand on the ground level with the actors as Caesar’s assassination plays out. The filming will give audiences the chance to experience both perspectives from within the crowd and looking on to the action in 360 degrees. This is the first time a National Theatre Live broadcast will have filmed a promenade immersive production.
