Before the Original Off-Broadway Cast Recording of The Evolution of Mann drops digitally February 15, Playbill has an exclusive on three tracks from the upcoming album.

With music and lyrics by Douglas J. Cohen and lyrics by Dan Elish, the musical comedy follows 30-something Henry Mann, a single New Yorker eager to settle down—according to him. After receiving an invitation to his ex- fiancée's wedding, he and his lesbian roommate, Gwen, embark on a quest to find the perfect date.

The Evolution of Mann initially played Off-Broadway at The Cell during the fall of 2018. The production starred Max Crumm (Disaster!, Grease) as Henry, Allie Trimm (13: The Musical) as Sheila, Tamar, Mrs. Mann, and Christine, and Leslie Hiatt as Gwen. All three are featured on the tracks—including one bonus track—below.

“What's the Matter With Henry?” - Max Crumm, Allie Trimm, Leslie Hiatt

“The Unromantic Things” - Leslie Hiatt and Max Crumm

Bonus Track: “It’s Only a First Date” - Max Crumm and Douglas J. Cohen (composer / lyricist) on piano

Recorded at Yellow Sound Lab by Matthias Winter, the recording is mixed by Tyler Hartman and mastered by Michael Fossenkemper.
