News Exclusive First Listen! The “Broadway for Orlando” Remixes What the World Needs Now is Love: The Remixes, featuring Idina Menzel, Sara Bareilles, Bernadette Peters, Lin-Manuel Miranda and more, has just been released. Hear it here first.

Following the shooting massacre at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, dozens of Broadway stars gathered to record a benefit single of Burt Bacharach and Hal David’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love” in New York City.

Among the stars heard on the single are Sara Bareilles, Carole King, Nathan Lane, Audra McDonald, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bernadette Peters, Whoopi Goldberg and dozens more.

The song is executive produced by Seth Rudetsky, James Wesley and Van Dean of Broadway Records. It was produced in conjunction with Playbill at Avatar Studios.

The single, which captured national media attention, also rose to the #1 slot on the iTunes chart, knocking out Justin Timberlake. The single also landed on the Billboard Hot 100. Playbill’s exclusive music video of the recording has drawn over 1 million views since premiering June 19.

Now, four top DJs offer 10 remixes of the song that has inspired a movement.

Created to honor the victims and those wounded in the Orlando shooting massacre at Pulse nightclub and aid the surrounding community, 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the song (and the remixes) will benefit the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida.
