King Kong is a musical adaptation of the 1933 film that introduced the world to the most famous silverback gorilla. The show originated in Melbourne, Australia, and has been on an eight-year journey to the Broadway stage.

The cast will include Christiani Pitts (A Bronx Tale) as Ann Darrow, Eric William Morris (Mamma Mia!) as Carl Denham, and Erik Lochtefeld (Misery) as Lumpy. The production team will include Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Part 1 and 2) as the book writer, Drew McOnie as the director and choreographer, Marius de Vries (Bombay Dreams) as the composer and music producer, Eddie Perfect as the lyricist, Sonny Tilders as the creator of the King Kong puppet, Peter England as the set and projection designer, Roger Kirk (Jesus Christ Superstar) as the costume designer, Peter Mumford (A Doll's House) as the lighting designer, and Peter Hylenski (Frozen) as the sound designer.
