Broadway News Drew Gehling Returns to Broadway’s Waitress February 13 The original cast member steps back into the role of Dr. Pomatter, appearing opposite Sara Bareilles.

Original Waitress star Drew Gehling returns to the musical February 13, donning the stethoscope once more as Dr. Pomatter. He takes over for Grammy winner Jason Mraz, who concluded his 14-week stint February 11.

Though this is his third time in the role at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, it’s his first appearing opposite Sara Bareilles. The singer-songwriter, who earned Tony and Grammy nominations for her score, takes center stage as Jenna through March 11.

New to the cast is Lee Wilkof, who assumes the role of Joe. The Kiss Me, Kate Tony nominee most recently appeared on Broadway in Holiday Inn.

In addition to Waitress, Gehling’s stage credits include Jersey Boys and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever on Broadway, Off-Broadway in A Minister’s Wife and Billy & Ray, and in the world premiere of the Roman Holiday musical.

The current company also features Christopher Fitzgerald as Ogie, Joe Tippett as Earl, Caitlin Houlahan as Dawn, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Becky, and Benny Elledge as Cal.
