Broadway News Denzel Washington-Led The Iceman Cometh Opens on Broadway April 26 George C. Wolfe directs the new production of the Eugene O’Neill classic.

Tony and Oscar winner Denzel Washington returns to Broadway in a revival of Eugene O’Neill’s The Iceman Cometh, officially opening April 26 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

The production, directed by five-time Tony winner George C. Wolfe, began previews March 23 (after pushing its first preview back a day after the winter storm delayed set pieces from arriving).

Joining Washington, who plays the central salesman Hickey, are Tammy Blanchard as Cora, Tony winners Frank Wood and Bill Irwin as Cecil Lewis and Ed Mosher, respectively, Reg Rogers as James Cameron, Colm Meaney as Harry Hope, David Morse as Larry Slade, Danny McCarthy as Rocky Pioggi, Carolyn Braver as Pearl, Austin Butler as Don Parritt, Joe Forbrich as Lieb, Nina Grollman as Margie, Thomas Michael Hammond as Moran, Neal Huff as Willie Obam, Danny Mastrogiordio as Chuck Morello, Dakin Matthews as Piet Wetjoen, Jack McGee as Pat McGloin, Clark Middleton as Hugo Kalmar, and Michael Potts as Joe Mott.

The 14-week limited engagement, produced by Scott Rudin, features sets by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Ann Roth, and lighting design by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer.

The 2018 staging marks the fourth Broadway revival of the 1946 drama.
