Ben Platt, who played his final performance in the Tony-winning Dear Evan Hansen November 19, stopped by Ellen November 28 to discuss starring in the musical—and performing for his music idol.
Platt, who won a Tony for his work in the title role, detailed the buildup to the performance attended by Beyoncé. The actor told DeGeneres, “I had two days notice, so I planned a haircut, planned an extra voice lesson, really wore my favorite outfit.… It was everything I ever dreamed, and she took the time to come back and see us and was kind enough to talk about the show.”
