The New Group has extended its production of Tony winner David Rabe's Good for Otto for a second time, and performances will now continue through April 15. Set inside a rural Connecticut mental health center, the play depicts an American community on the edge and looks at how health professionals, patients, and families fight to survive in the face of mental illness.

The Off-Broadway premiere began February 20 in the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at the Signature Center where it officially opened March 8. The run was originally extended through April 8.

Scott Elliott directs a cast made up of Rhea Perlman, Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham, Kate Buddeke, Laura Esterman, Nancy Giles, Lily Gladstone, Ed Harris, Charlotte Hope, Mark Linn-Baker, Amy Madigan, Rileigh McDonald, Kenny Mellman, Maulik Pancholy, and Michael Rabe.

The production features scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Jeff Mahshie, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen. Original music is by Kenny Mellman. Casting is by Judy Henderson, CSA; the production stage manager is Valerie A. Peterson.

Good for Otto premiered at Chicago's Gift Theatre in 2015.
